How to Send Automated Messages for End-of-Scheduled-Workout Scenarios

With Automations in Exercise.com for Business, you can automatically send messages when a client’s workout plan or schedule is ending. This guide walks you through setting up an automated message for end-of-scheduled-workout scenarios.

1. Navigate to the Automations Tab

Click the “Automations” tab to access the automation settings where you can create and manage automated workflows.

2. Create a New Automation

Click “Create New Automation” and select “Send a Message: One Time” from the drop-down list.

3. Edit the Automation

Click the edit (pencil) icon next to your automation to open its settings.

4. Select the Action Trigger

Select “Week Plan Ending Soon” from the drop-down. You may also choose other triggers such as “Calendar Ending Soon” or “Calendar Plan Ending Soon.”

5. Set the Trigger Timing (Days Before Event)

Input the number of days before the automation is triggered.Note: This automation can only be triggered by days — not by seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, or months.

6. Select Notification Type

Use the multi-select field to choose how the automation will be sent. You can select one or more of the following options:

  • Email

  • Platform Message

  • SMS Text Message

  • iOS/Android Notification
  • Select Notification Type

    7. Customize Your Message

    Click “Email Subject” and “Message Body” to edit the text that will be sent automatically.

    8. Save the Automation

    Click “Save” to apply and save the automation you’ve created.

    9. Review and Test Your Notification

    When the automation is triggered, you’ll receive a notification through the selected communication channel. Below are examples of how each scenario works:

  • Week Plan Ending Soon – Triggers X days before the last workout in the client’s week plan.

  • Calendar Plan Ending Soon – Triggers X days before the last workout from the imported plan.

  • Calendar Ending Soon – Triggers X days before the final scheduled workout.
  • Review and Test Your Notification

    You have successfully configured an automated message to be sent when a scheduled workout ends. This automation helps you keep clients informed and engaged. To explore more options, check out other triggers and message templates available in the platform.
