This article explains how to disable 2-Step Authentication (2FA) on Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress accounts.

Before You Start

You must be the account owner or admin.
You will need access to your current authentication method (authenticator app, SMS, or backup codes) to disable 2FA.
Turning off 2-Step Authentication reduces account security. We recommend re-enabling it after completing any necessary updates.

On self-hosted WordPress sites, 2FA is typically managed by a plugin.

Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
Click Plugins.
Locate your security or 2FA plugin (examples: Wordfence, WP 2FA, iThemes Security).
Click Settings under that plugin.
Navigate to the Two-Factor Authentication section.
Disable 2FA for your user account.
Click Save Changes.
