With the Exercise.com scheduling tools, your team can efficiently manage sessions and ensure every appointment is properly staffed. The Unassigned column lets trainers and staff quickly spot sessions that don’t yet have an assigned trainer or asset in the Schedule Day View. This improves visibility and prevents unfilled sessions from being overlooked.

This guide will show you how to add an “Unassigned” column in Day View to display sessions that don’t have assigned staff or assets.

1. Access the Calendar Tab

Click Calendar to open your scheduling view and manage sessions.

Access the Calendar tab to view and manage your schedule.

2. Add a Schedule

Select the day and time slot on the calendar, then click to add a session.

Choose a date and time, then add a session to the schedule.

3. Configure the Session

Open the session you added, click Edit, then enable the Disable Staff checkbox.

Edit the session and enable the Disable Staff checkbox.

4. Open Schedule Day View

Click the Day View tab to display staff columns and their scheduled sessions.

Open the Day View to see staff columns and sessions.

5. View the Unassigned Column

In the Unassigned column, you’ll see sessions that have no assigned trainer or asset in Day View.

6. Edit Filters

Use Filters to customize which columns show in Day View.

7. Enable Hide Empty Columns on Day View

Check the setting “Hide Empty Columns on Day View” to automatically hide any columns without scheduled sessions.

8. Confirm the Calendar View

When “Hide Empty Columns on Day View” is enabled, columns with no scheduled sessions— including the Unassigned column—are hidden from view.

With empty columns hidden, Day View shows only columns with sessions.

You’ve successfully added an “Unassigned” column in Day View to display sessions without assigned staff or assets. This helps your team quickly spot scheduling gaps and ensure every session is properly managed.
